AI change management consulting for leaders who have already bought AI
Average Robot is an AI change management consulting firm. We work with leaders whose teams have AI and whose numbers have not moved. We close that distance through the people and the process around the AI you already pay for, and every engagement starts with SMART goals for the AI spend, one of them in money.
What does AI change management consulting cover?
It covers everything between the day AI goes live and the day the return shows up in your numbers. A system change used to have a launch date, a training plan and an end state. AI arrives differently. It is live on day one, each person decides how far to take it, and the return depends on what people do with the time it saves.
That is why we name the problem in money. The AI Profitability Gap™ is the distance between what an organization spends on AI and the commercial return it produces. Spend and usage are easy to see in a report. The return is decided after usage, by three conditions a standard report does not measure: Direction, Skill and Reinvestment. Our consulting work is finding which of those is failing in your organization and fixing it with the people who do the work. The full explanation is on what the AI Profitability Gap™ is.
How do we close the gap?
We use one method, the AI Profit Bridge, in every engagement. It starts with Purpose: SMART goals for the AI spend, set in the numbers your business already reports, with at least one goal in commercial return. Each goal then moves across three rows. Empowered People is whether your teams use AI in their own work and can get more from it than the obvious. Efficient Process is whether the work has been redesigned so the time AI saves goes somewhere that earns. Profitable Platform is what your AI investment delivers: whether the AI you pay for is tied to a goal.
Each row moves from Foundation through Optimization to Innovation, until the goals you set at the start have been met. We go deepest on people and process. Where the technology itself has to change, we say so and bring in a build partner. The whole method is laid out on how we close the AI Profitability Gap™.
What can you buy, and where do you start?
There are four ways to work with us, and each one leads to the next.
- 1. The AI Profit Ready Assessment. Free. Eight questions, about two minutes. It shows which condition is holding your return back.
- 2. The AI Profit Workshop. $2,999. A founder-led half-day for a leader and up to six participants, built on your Assessment results. The fee is credited in full toward the AI Profit Sprint if you start one within six months.
- 3. The AI Profit Sprint. $8,500. Eight weeks for one leader and a team of up to 20, about 20 minutes a week for each person. You receive six weekly task cards, a team playbook and a before-and-after readout. The Sprint works on the People row.
- 4. The AI Profit Partnership. From $19,999, over 90 days. You receive SMART goals set in week one, research with your own team, quick wins put in place along the way and a plan for the year ahead. The Partnership works on People, Process and Platform together.

Who hires an AI change management consultant?
We work with CEOs, CHROs, COOs and CMOs, and with the senior leaders who report to them. CIOs and CTOs join from the technology side. The size of the company matters less than its shape: there is a specialist team that AI is landing on, and a leader who owns that team's results. If that leader has AI in place and cannot yet name a business number that has moved, the work starts there.
Each seat sees a different part of the problem. The role pages set out what each one owns: CEOs, CHROs, COOs and CMOs.
How does this compare with a traditional change management firm?
Established change frameworks such as ADKAR and Kotter's eight steps are useful, and we draw on them. Our comparison of AI change management frameworks sets out where each one fits. What we add is the money goal at the start and the measured return at the end, with the work in between done on your team's real tasks. If you are weighing us against a named firm, our Average Robot vs Prosci comparison is a fair place to begin.

At Average Robot, the Assessment is free, the Workshop is $2,999, the Sprint is $8,500 for one leader and a team of up to 20, and the Partnership starts at $19,999. The Workshop fee is credited in full toward the Sprint if you start within six months.

Do you implement AI tools?
No. We work with the AI you already pay for. If the platform itself has to change, we say so and bring in a build partner.
Is AI change management the same as AI training?
Training is one part of it. Change management also covers what the AI work is for, how the work is redesigned around AI, and where the saved time goes. Training on its own leaves those questions open.
